Yaaaaay. I hated the blue circle.

Now I need to find out how to get rid of the label at the bottom of my cursor that insists on telling me which keys I am pressing while I'm drawing. It's merely silly while I'm drawing up but obnoxious while I'm drawing down and it's blocking my view.

Aye, well done! Here was I thinking that the Wacom drivers were bugged when it was in fact a Windows feature... Thank you!

So I was able to get rid of the solid circle but the annoying ghosted one still appears upon touch. I followed all of your steps and even re-installed the Wacom driver and restarted. Any other work-arounds you know of? I was so happy when I found your post to see that others are having the same issue!

Oh man, THANK YOU! That was so annoying and unproductive.

VelvetLounger said...

I have followed all the instructions. I still get all circles on W7

VelvetLounger said...

Here is the only thing that worked for me

--Click Start, type in gpedit.msc and hit enter.
--Click through User Configuration --Administrative Templates -- Windows Components -- Tablet PC -- Cursors.
--Double click on "Turn off pen feedback" and select Enabled to enable the filter that turns off the ripple

For the Danish users go to "computeradministration"
Select "Tjenester og programmer"
then "Tjenester"
then "TabletServicePen"
then Starttype = Deaktiveret"

Thank you so much! I'm using Windows 7 Pro and was finally able to get rid of Circle #1 thanks to your instructions. :)

Circle #2 I remedied as follows:
- Click "Start", type gpedit.msc and hit enter.
- Go to "User Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" >
"Windows Components" > "Tablet PC" > "Cursors".
- Right-click "Turn off pen feedback" and select "Enabled".

Repeat these same steps for "Computer Configuration", too!

The second part doesn't work in Windows 8. After using the first part of your solution I found this(page four):

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-hardware/how-do-i-turn-off-pen-feedback-in-windows-8/4cbfb07b-6d19-4e86-b7fe-ae97dff3e0e2?page=4&tm=1375985607223

Paul Wolf's reply gives more complete instructions to an answer by another user, which worked for me.

Also, see this petition to persuade the powers that be to pull their fingers out and get this long standing issue changed:

http://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/wacom-and-microsoft-fix-the-wacom-driver-issues-and-windows-8-pen-subsystem

It only needs three more votes at last count (to get it sent, not responded to!)

Hey, this didn't work for me. It still hangs/pauses when I try to fix it. HELP NOW.

patria said...

none of this worked for me and im awfully confused. the 2click wont go away even from disabling and restarting it. i uninstall and re-install. nothing works, i dont understand.

walldoo99 said...

The first one worked like a charm and the second one I tried last night to lose the handwriting pop out,but after reboot the tablet was dead. wacom has no other driver for this unit, bit my hollywood had the answer with the gpedit.msc thing and it got rid of that annoying flag telling which key I am holding

Justsome1 said...

Wanna hear something scary as hell? Aight.. So like a year ago i did this to disable this annoying ass thing (never got my head around why Wacom would implement something as fucking annoying as this but whatever) Right so i disabled this shit. Worked great untill.. today. All of a sudden the ripples and lag were back. I was like.. WTF? So i checked everything, that service.. still disabled. And pen and touch settings.. press and hold.. unchecked. Right so basically the ripples came back out of nowhere with no cause what so ever and now they are all ghost and shit, so i can't disable them. Way to go Wacom. That's the last product i buy from that shit company, no offence.

Thank you very much! I hated this because I need to write slowly to make my handwriting legible. And doing so erased what I had just written.
